“We’re extremely pleased with the bespoke artwork that Laura produced for us. It looks fantastic in our lounge and meets our needs perfectly. Laura kept us informed during the creation process and listened and acted upon our feedback to ensure we received exactly what we wanted. Laura also arranged for the framing and delivered it to us. The finished artwork is of a very high quality.” Leisa, Winchester

Everything you need to know about my commission process is below. If you’d like me to create a beautiful, custom, one-of-a-kind original artwork for your space, then read on and fill out the form below to start the conversation today with me about your painting.

Artwork Size

The first step is to decide on which shape and size painting would work the best for your space. Is it one painting, or a series of two or three? Landscape or vertical? Spend time looking at your space to get a feel for what might work, or look at my previous works for ideas. You can always send me some photos, I’m more than happy to advise if you’d like some help.

Inspiration

The next step for me is to see the room where the artwork will hang (either in person or photos), as well as any fabric swatches, paint samples, or colour palettes you want to provide. The more information the better!

Share with me if there are there any particular paintings of mine that you are drawn to, and what it is about those artworks you love. It might be the composition, colours, placement of lines, lightness or darkness of colour etc.

Proposal Sketches

Using all this inspiration I’ll create several proposal sketches for you to consider. Once we’ve settled on a final plan, the work begins! Each commission takes 4 to 6 weeks until the piece is completed and ready to ship out to you. I’ll keep in touch with you throughout the process and provide you with images of the work in progress to make sure we’re still on the same page.

Framing

Framing is an additional cost and adds to the time frame above. I can provide quotes for framing once the commission is underway. I’m also more than happy to ship works unframed for you to take to your local framer if you wish too.

Price

The bespoke nature and the extra time and care taken to make sure that you get the perfect painting for you, means commissioned paintings are 20% more than works from my collections.

A 50% deposit is required to begin this process, with the remainder due on completion of the artwork prior to shipping. Shipping and framing are invoiced separately and in addition to the cost of the artwork itself.
